Gardenia Extract is extracted from the fruit of gardenia jasminoides. Main active ingredient of gardenia extract is geniposide. Genipin is produced from geniposide through hydrolysis reaction and concentration process.
Genipin is an excellent natural cross-linking agent for proteins, collagen, gelatin, and chitosan, and it can be used in artificial bones. Genipin is also great material for tattoo cream, as it can display dark blue or navy blue when it reacts with amino acid and proteins in the skin cells.
